My pants are very loose, so I think I have also lost 2-3inches in waistline over all. I ran a total of 5 times for a total exercise time of 110 mins and distance covered of about 17.5 km. Not a bad week! I am now in a beginners conditions program. For my level now I am running and walking for a total of about 22 minutes 3 or 4 times a week.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Tonight I walked for 1 min, ran for 3 and repeated 5 times for a total of 15 minutes running and 7 minutes walking. This adds up to about 22 minutes. In this time I covered about 3.5 km.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It was a good workout as the beginning was just right and at the end it was starting to get tough. I will try to do this routine 2 or 3 more times before increasing the running time and decreasing the walking time as per the program.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My resting heard rate was about 60 bpm this am. After the run my heart rate was about 130 bpm, this I believe is the perfect rate for burring calories. Yippee!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I am satisfied with my progress and I feel great.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Tomorrow am is my "weigh in". I was able to get out of bed at 6:30am, do my stretches, and than I ran 2.5 km in about 12.5 minutes. This was the first time I ran this distance without having to stop or walk. I will do it one more time and then increase the distance to about 3kms. Yipee!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Updated in the pm:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I also walked for 30mins today at lunch.. in the HEAT.. wow.. what a great workout! I picked up some new socks and a running book/log book at the Running Room. I had eggs, ham, rye bread, and home fries.. ouch! Lots of calories and fat, but man it tasted GOOD! I did skip the sugar and milk in my coffee, so maybe that helps a bit. ;-)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For lunch today I had a bowl of blueberries and strawberries with 1% milk.. yummy! We are BBQ'ing chicken for supper, so I may have to go for a walk this evening to burn off some of calories. ;-)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I did find a great site for counting calories.. it has everything:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.thecaloriecounter.com/"&gt;http://www.thecaloriecounter.com/&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Updated after supper:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;After supper I walked the same route that I have been running. I measured the route with my GPS:  just under 2.5Kms. I walked it in 20mins. Great easy workout!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Before bed I finished my stretches, completed 2 sets of 25 crunches, and also worked my arms with dumbbells. What a great day.. My legs were sore, but my hips felt much better than the last run as I stretched out REAL good before and after the run.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Not sure if my old Nike Air cross-trainers are going to cut it, so I think I will be shopping for running shoes next week. I may also pick up a heart-rate monitor and perhaps a pedometer. After 18 years of junk food, beer and sitting on my f*t *ss I weighed in 2 weeks ago at about 255lbs. That works out to a gain of about 4 lbs a year.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have been walking 30-45 minutes every day since the spring, but I have still been maintaining the same weight. After being inspired by an old friend I decided to get on with it and try to loose some weight and get back into shape.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Two weeks ago I made "The Decision". No more muffins. No more sugar in my coffee. No more junk food in the evening (did I mention that I LOVE Doritos?). No more junk-food lunches. From now on it is a healthy breakfast, healthy lunch, regular dinner, and then a healthy snack in the early evening. I have re-discovered oranges, bananas and apples! Vegetables are my friend! Whole-wheat mini pitas rock! I bet that by just dropping the muffins and chips I have probably cut 1000 calories from my daily intake. Wow!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;After 2 weeks of walking and eating better I feel better than I have in a long time. As well, I have lost about 5lbs! This was a "trial period" to see if I could do it and to see how I felt. Needless to say I am pretty happy with my early success.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Two nights ago I went for a 13 minute jog. It was tough (my poor muscles) but after stretching out a LOT afterwards and the next day it felt great. I have decided that I am going to try to jog 15-20mins 3 times a week. In the evenings that I am not jogging  I will be stretching, doing crunches and free weights.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My goal for this fall (Nov 1) is to be down to 235 pounds. That means a loss of 20 lbs in about 4 months.
